How do I check that an orthodontist is a registered specialist?

Orthodontist is a protected specialist title in New Zealand, regulated under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 by the Dental Council of New Zealand (Te Kaunihera Tiaki Niho), which registers orthodontic specialists in their own scope of practice, separate from general dentistry.
