Refund Policy

Effective 17 August 2026

This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to the Top5.nz business subscription, supplied by The Click Lab Limited.

The short version

You can cancel any time and keep what you paid for until the period ends. We do not refund the unused part of a period by default. If something went wrong at our end, ask us, and we will sort it out.

Cancelling

Cancel from the billing portal in your business dashboard. It takes a few seconds, you do not need to contact us, and you do not need to give a reason.

Cancelling stops the next annual renewal. Your subscription features stay live until the end of the period you have paid for, then stop. We keep your profile content rather than deleting it, so if you resubscribe later the page comes back as it was.

When we do refund

  • Duplicate or mistaken charges. Charged twice, or charged for a location you did not intend to buy, and we refund it in full.
  • We failed to deliver. If a subscription feature you paid for was not working for a meaningful part of the period and we could not fix it, we refund that part.
  • We materially reduced the subscription. If we remove something significant during your paid period, you can cancel and we refund the unused part.
  • We ended your subscription for a reason that was not your breach. We refund the unused part.

When we do not refund

We would rather be specific here than leave it to be argued about later.

  • Your ranking fell. Position is earned from public review data and is not part of what a subscription buys. A drop is not a fault, and it is not a refund event, even if it happens shortly after you subscribe.
  • Your business stopped appearing on a page. Including where our method no longer supports listing it in that category or location.
  • The listing did not produce enquiries. We do not promise traffic, leads, or revenue, and we do not refund against them.
  • You changed your mind, or did not use it. The subscription was available to you for the period.
  • We ended the subscription because of a breach of the Terms of Service, including attempts to manipulate review data.

None of this stops you asking. Circumstances differ and we look at them.

How to ask for a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on the account, with the business name and what happened. We respond within five working days. Approved refunds go back to the card that was charged, through Stripe, and usually take five to ten working days to appear.

Chargebacks

If you think a charge is wrong, email us before raising it with your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee whatever the outcome and takes longer to resolve than we do. We will suspend a subscription while a chargeback is open.

Your rights

The subscription is supplied to businesses for business purposes, so the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply, as set out in our Terms of Service. This policy sits alongside your other legal rights and does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law.
